Here are some questions you might have – if you have any others then please contact me and I will get back to you.
I founded the Slow Stitch School to help others experience the joy of this gentle art form. Our school offers tutorials, workshops, and resources for everyone, whether you are new to stitching or have years of experience.
- In the tutorials, I provide step-by-step illustrated instructions to guide you through specific techniques, ensuring you have a clear and detailed understanding of each process.
- In the workshops, you'll discover a variety of creative projects designed to inspire and ignite your passion for slow stitching. These workshops offer opportunities to:
- Experiment with new ideas
- Explore different styles
- Develop your unique artistic voice
- Create unique gifts for loved ones
Another charm of slow stitching lies in its sustainable nature – you probably already have all the materials you need to get started. My practice emphasizes using pre-loved fabrics, minimizing waste and embracing eco-friendly methods. By giving new life to these materials, we not only preserve the unique beauty and stories they carry but also adopt a mindful and sustainable approach to our art. You will find several tutorials on building your stash in the Slow Stitch School. Sometimes you might even find some limited edition slow stitch kits available for sale.
My passion is to encourage people to find their own creative voice, therefore I take an unusual approach to teaching: I share inspirational insights and then demonstrate, step by step, my own interpretation of the project, often presenting multiple examples. This method gently encourages you to find your own way of expressing what these ideas mean to you personally, allowing you to develop your unique style in slow stitching.
My personal specialty is creating slow-stitched books, you’ll find some inspiring examples among the workshops available. But there’s more than just books! You’ll also discover projects for interactive greeting cards and wearable art, plus other delightful creations. Additionally, there is a year-long, culturally inspired slow stitch book project with a new chapter introduced each month.
New tutorials and workshops will be added all the time, giving you an ever-growing library to explore.
Thanks for the amazing journey we have all had together. I personally love being part of this tribe with generosity in comments and support...
